Cardmaker Of The Year 2021

I still can not believe that I won Cardmaker Of The Year 2021! What an absolute dream come true! 

I entered the competition very late (and nearly didn't bother!), but it goes to show that anything can happen! All you had to do to enter was to create two cards and a project. Below are my entries for the competition, I wanted to create three projects that all followed the same theme, so I worked around a Springtime theme with blues and browns. 

For the slimline card I used the Tonic Studio Celebrate Friends stamp set and creating a farm yard scene with cute critters, a barn and a vegetable patch. I also used some of the images to decorate the inside of the card. I paired this with a handmade envelope, which I had stamped some coordinating images from the stamp set. 

For the A2 size card, I used the Simon Says Stamp Thankful Flowers stamp set and coloured these using alcohol markers. I used an embossing folder for a subtle background and then stamped a sentiment onto blue card. I paired this with another handmade envelope in the same blue shade and stamped the main flower image on the front.

For my project I decided to create a paper lantern using the Hunkydory Moonstone Lovely Lantern die. I created my own patterned paper using a large Tonic Studio background stamp and then coloured it with alcohol markers. I added a paper nest inside to hold a candle. For a finished touch I added two die cut butterflies. 

 

The prizes I have received for being a winner of this competition have been incredible and I am extremely grateful to all the companies who donated generously. 

On top of all this, I have been asked to create commissions for the four Practical Publishing paper crafting magazines; Simply Cards and Papercraft, Die Cutting Essentials, Creative Stamping and Papercraft Essentials. I look forward to being able to get involved with the magazines and being able to use some new products and the wonderful monthly free gifts. Hopefully you will see me in the next magazine!!
